Jockey Club Creative Arts Centre (JCCAC) once again cooperated with PMQ, to take a group of young artists and their works across the habour, to showcase as a microcosm of our Shek Kip Mei artists village at PMQ. We hope more people will get to appreciate the unique yet familiar artistic language of Hong Kong’s young artists and to discover the joy of collecting their works.

Presented by JCCAC, “Art Chong In Lane” – Hong Kong Young Artist Series combines art exhibitions, creative workshops and a curated product showcase all under one roof. Almost like creating a mini/taster version of the JCCAC arts village, the exhibition in two episodes – featuring three JCCAC artists in each – will run from September 6 to 29 and October 4 to 27 at PMQ.

About the artists and their works at first episode:

“My Previous Shell”: Stars that cry out of loneliness, a peculiar-looking but kind-hearted tree, a shell that resembles a strawberry mochi… Turning its back to various landscapes, snail slowly continue its journey along the small path, setting off in search of the next shell. Artist Emily Choy’s latest works record the small joys in the struggle of everyday life.

“‘MEMORIES IN A VAT’”: The fish tank can be both empty and brimming with life; in your memories, are there several fish tanks waiting to be filled, and a few forgotten, withering paradises? Artist Rita Lau constructs illusory and tranquil spaces with fish tanks, gently telling the audience various stories about memories.

“Habitual diversion of mind 4152″: Transcending the flat frame, and blending ceramic, photography, collage, and textile media, artist Jocelyn Lui explores the changes and mindsets associated with different stages of life, seeking insights within the compressed timeline. Through photographic collage and mixed media installations, she shares introspections on her experience of relationship transformations and the process of self-healing.

To enhance visitors’ appreciation of the exhibition and to share the joy of art-making, various workshops are on offer.

Do not miss exclusive products created by the featured artists on sale at the “Chong In Lane Store” (S312) which will pop up on each of the weekends between September 7 and October 27.
Store location: Unit S312, Block A, PMQ, 35 Aberdeen Street, Central, Hong Kong
