A book is like a friend. We understand the world and life, or even observe ourselves through texts, and have a deep realization of oneself that we are not alone. PMQ invites different people from design and culture sectors to recommend a book, so that you can enrich yourselves as book therapy.

Why would you recommend this book?

Beely Daily: Does it sound not too down to earth to you if the two religious leaders only talk about joy?

Joy is pure and simple, but never easy to achieve. It is something deep in the heart. The book explores the essence of joy, incorporates scientific evidence to explain emotions, and introduces us to some spiritual exercise methods. Although the whole book revolves around joy, joy itself is not the purpose of life, but just a by-product: when you learn to be humble, grateful, compassionate, and giving, we will be closer to joy. After all, happiness is about connecting to others, trying to open oneself up, feeling more, caring more, and that is how you show your humanity.

The Book of Joy: Lasting Happiness in a Changing World

Is it a bit cliché, is it a bit too positive? But what does it matter in Hong Kong today? Regardless of the world or the individual, everyone needs balance. If you are in a low tide, you might as well read this book. This book is not a religious book. It does not require faith prerequisites, and readers do not have to receive it in its entirety. Reading it in different periods will inevitably feel different. As the two of them said in the book preface that they are just two friends from different worlds sharing , what they have seen and learned in a long life. We don't need to believe in them but they hope we will use our life to prove it and see if what the book tells you is true.

I hope everyone can achieve lasting happiness in this ever-changing world with this book.
