A book is like a friend. We understand the world and life, or even observe ourselves through texts, and have a deep realization of oneself that we are not alone. PMQ invites different people from design and culture sectors to recommend a book, so that you can enrich yourselves as book therapy.

Why would you recommend this book?

Joyce Mak: Over the years working in pr and marketing communication, I have encountered many applicants. During the Q&A interview, they would ask: "What kind of skills do you think one needs to be qualified for this job?" Today, the most important thing for excelling in PR is "Empathy", which is necessary when brainstorming or dealing with crises; "Creativity” can help you to cope with the daily challenges and sudden incidents; as for "humor", it is also a quality to help you survive.

Brooke Barker, author of “Sad Animal Facts”, is definitely a public relations talent. The theme of the book is unique and creative. Brooke has collected over a hundred of fun facts and trivia about animals. With a cute style and dynamic dialogues, take a “listen” to their spiritual monologues. As the saying goes, "Self-deprecation is the highest state of humor."

"Sad Animal Facts"

Author: Brooke Barker

Giraffe only sleeps for 3 hours a night (Is it really that unfortunate that I can barely sleep for 6 hours after OT?)

Herring communicates in the form of farting (So the boss's nonsense is not that bad actually?!)

Tarantulas can live without eating for many years (Social distancing isn’t that bad..)

We can easily relate to the sad moments of small animals when our lives meet adversity. No matter what your career is, take a few minutes to read a few pages, and you can be balanced by humorous and wise insights.
