VIVIENNE TAM Fall 2015 Collection is an urban romantic take on Chinoiserie, the European concept of China, sparked by its imagination of the mystical and exotic Far East.

“Chinoiserie” is a prevailing aesthetic characterized by intricate designs that blend ornate European design with rich imagery from the East. Furniture, wallpapers and decorative art objects dominated interior and fashion designs. The Baroque matte silver and foiled gold lace in the collection derived from Chinese Chippendale gilt mirrors are appliquéd onto high-necked, Victorian-inspired silk blouses that frame the face. Different vintage details like sequins and sheer tulles, printed silks, embroidered lace cuffs, gathered-neck and pea-coats create rich visual variety to the collection. With the flattering silhouettes with rich textures designs, lacer-cut applications, striking patchworks of high-tech fabrics and inlays of dainty beadings and sequins, this alluring collection delivers a romances and magnificence of Victorian styles in a modern way.
