“Following its success in Singapore last year, cultural curator Scentory is creating a local extension of BooksActually’s popular exhibition, “the World’s Loneliest Bookstore”, celebrating the launch of “Shantih Shantih Shantih”, the latest book by established author Daryl Qilin Yam (published by Math Paper Press).

We have curated “The World’s Loneliest Bookstore: Shantih Shantih Shantih” (Hong Kong edition), a snowscape that weaves together words and scents, visual art and music, including:

  • We will present our latest scent concoction during this exhibition, the ‘Scent of Snow’, an essential oil blend that opens up hundreds of scent combinations for our readers to complement a life-size installation of Daryl’s book.
  • Also featured are new works by local printmaker/visual artist, Nicolas Ho, who took his inspiration from “Shantih Shantih Shantih” and created a series of pastel drawings.
  • For a more immersive experience, we have also invited singer-songwriter/music composer, Olivier Cong, to create a music piece, featuring Daryl’s reading, as the exhibition’s soundtrack.
