“The Most Beautiful Czech Books of the Year 2022″ have arrived to Hong Kong.

After the first places were introduced as part of the presentation of Czechia at this year`s Hong Kong Book Fair, the full-fledged exhibition will be shown at PMQ from 29th July till 13th August.

Consulate General of the Czech Republic in cooperation with Museum of Czech Literature and the Ministry of Culture proudly presents the winning books (1-3) in 7 categories (Non-fiction Literature, Fiction, Children`s and Young Adult Literature, Textbooks for All Educational Stages and Other Teaching Aids, Visual Art Books, Catalogues and Bibliophile Books and Artists` Books) to the Hong Kong audience. There will also be other books shown, awarded for the best young artist under 30, the outstanding execution of printing, the excellent visual accompaniment and special prizes awarded by the Association of Commercial Printers and Czech Union of Graphic Design.

The year 2022 marked the 58th edition of this yearly competition that assesses not just current book design, but also quality and originality of the print and bookbinding

There will be plenty of other Czech books to read, both in English and Czech in the “Czech Reading Corner” with books provided by Czech publishing houses Albatros Media, Práh, BAOBAB, UNIVERSUM etc. and/or authors of “H2O” adventure series (Petr Stančík and Galina Miklínová), Renata Fučíková (illustrator and author) and others.

Join us for the exhibition, reading and playing (Igracek toys will be displayed in the reading corner)! You are in for a surprise, too, as a set of “book” exercises will be shown and encouraged throughout the exhibition.
