Mr. Unten lives in the central region of Kyushu, Japan, in the nature-rich city of Taketa, Oita Prefecture. He has his own residence and studio where he creates his works. He combines the textures, knots, cracks, and imperfections of wood with his own inspirations, presenting a unique beauty of nature.

Glass / Taiga Oku

Born in Kagawa, 1986
He set up his studio in an old factory in the 1,200-year-old stone town near the Seto Inland Sea and creates glass works. Incorporating a handblown feel into transparent lines brings out that beauty in the work.
