This is the first time communication design students from PolyU collaborated with PMQ in a wayfinding project that a user-centric approach is taken to an effective design. Through a series of ethnography research and interviews in the real environment and interactions with the real users, the design students were able to apply different design research methods such as AEIOU, SWOT, system auditing, card sorting, empathy mapping and user journey mapping to suggest some unique topics for the new design.
The ‘Testing in Progress’ exhibition is presenting to you a selection of wayfinding design solutions, and demonstrating the practical use of ethnographic research methods on wayfinding design.
