It takes a happy man to have a happy meal.
A happy mood simply explains why we can enjoy a cup of expensive-but-not-that-good coffee that much, and why the lunchbox can only be dull and tasteless when we are eating in front of the computer. Besides fine ingredients, our mind is also a significant factor in determining our perception of taste.
This October, Taste Library invites Ms. Annie Lam — writer, online radio programme host, licensed hypnotherapist and body-mind-spirit tutor — to create two exclusive food experiences to explore the interesting relationship between mind and taste.
“Taste of your heart” (24/10/2015 | 2:00pm – 5:00pm)
How does our mind tell the tongue to taste? We are going to explain how our mind influences our perception of taste in a scientific way, and we are going to create the taste of different emotions together.
“Mindful cooking” (31/10/2015 | 2:00pm – 5:00pm)
We understand that it is very difficult to focus on only eating these days, this food experience is going to provide us with a chance to calm ourselves before eating by meditation. And then we will find the real flavour of the food when we are creating and tasting the recipe with an undistracted mind.
