Mentor: Mr. Cheung Hin Chi (Uncle Chi)
With its characteristic of ductility, galvanized iron was commonly used in making housewares, such as Mahjong boxes, letterboxes and scoops. Products made of galvanized iron were very popular before the demand for plastic ware increased. In this December, Uncle Chi will bring us back to the good old days, by showcasing how to make a traditional saving box.
Making a saving box is never as simple as it appears. It requires the maker to be nimble and detail-oriented in every single step, including folding, punching and hammering. Are you ready to be an apprentice, and take a journey to the past? Come and join us!
