Sarah Choi is from Seoul, Korea and she is now living in Hong Kong.
She has started the street photography in 2013. She has not got any lessons for photography and just started by phone camera.
She loves the connection between the people and their surroundings in the street. Especially, she focuses on the scene which people go across a street and go through a building wall.
Hong Kong is well known as a busy city that has lots of tall buildings. Those buildings are expressed by grey colors. On the other hand, you can find vivid colors everywhere in Hong Kong.
She enjoys capturing the colour and movement of people in Hong Kong’s streets. The colour is made by people and it is the most beautiful when it co-exists with them.
“Light and Darkness” is also one of the themes to explain her art world. A nature of things fixed, not changeable. But the shape, appearance is not fixed. According to the light direction, things show more diverse and more pop-up appearance.
In her artworks, light and darkness or shade function as a factor to create the 3rd colour, which it sets people off to advantage.
