The Korean Cultural Center in Hong Kong just opened the new exhibition “RE: Achne”, showcasing textile artworks of Fiber4Now, a group of four Korean textile artists—KANG Hwayoung, LEE Siwon, OH Seungah and SONG Eunsil.
‘Achne’ is the new word combining the word ‘Art’ and ‘Techne’, the origin word of technology. The show presents how each of different textile artists responds to the idea of art and technology in their own ways. ‘Achne’ is a word that symbolizes a variety of upcoming arts as they grow up from current interests to become a whole of art and technology or something new on the boundary of art and technology. You will explore the artworks produced by different medium and technology with the latest state of Korean textile art.
