Running alongside ‘Present’, the Japanese crafts and photography exhibition, is a hands-on pottery workshop. In this workshop, you will learn to make a plate using slab of clay. With necessary tools and rice paper transfers provided, you will be able to create layers of decoration with multiple surface decoration techniques.
Our rice paper transfers have been printed with underglaze based on the beautiful images taken by Japanese photographer, Chikura Shino. Once the images are transferred on your piece of work, it will be bisque-fired, covered with clear glaze, and high-fired.
All finished pieces will be ready to pick up in 3 to 4 weeks after the workshop.
*Spaces are limited.
