About “NOGAWA SENSHOKU CO LTD – BUSHU PROCESS”
The northern part of Saitama Prefecture was once called “Musashi” and has been a production center for indigo dyeing for about 250 years. This is the middle reaches of the Tone River, one of the three major rampage rivers, and flooding occurs frequently. The reason is that fertile soil suitable for growing indigo and cotton was brought to “Musashi”.
The indigo dyeing method of “Musashi” is different from other indigo dyeing. We dye cotton threads with natural fermented indigo and weave them into various fabrics on an old-fashioned shuttle loom to create a variety of fabrics for everyday use.
At our company, the products produced through these manufacturing processes are given the “Bushu Process” brand.
FUROSHIKI
Furoshiki is simply a big cloth towel. The Japanese use it to wrap the clothes they have taken off before entering the bath, or to use a cloth towel to wipe the body after taking a bath, or to use it as an eco-bag.
