This exhibition will introduce the elegant masterpieces HAKUCHIKUDO and KYOFUDO in Kyoto, the treasure trove of traditional Japanese art.

About HAKUCHIKUDO

HAKUCHIKUDO, opened a folding fan of the store for the temple in front of Nishi Honganji in trade name of “Kanayamagobee” in 1718. Was the Edo shogunate eighth shogun Tokugawa Yoshimune era. Meiji era and later, for general use, and now manufactures and sells “KYO- SENSE” for gifts. Tomioka Tessai who is said to be masters of modern Japanese art world, awarded the trade name of “HAKUCHIKUDO”.

The folding fan is said to be “SUEHIRO”
That’s said to be a lucky charm which means prosperity from the shape of widening toward the end. It’s employed as all celebration, present and souvenir including marriage and longevity. It’s also appreciated as a Japanese gift.

About KYOFUDO
The Kyofudo store is located in Kyomachiya in Ogawa-dori Oike. Located in this land where life and culture have a long history, Kyofudo hopes to become an exchange base that connects people, people and things, and people and culture. The logo of Kyofudo K represents silk fluttering in the wind, from here blowing pleasant cultural messages to all over the world, and cultural messages blowing from all over the world. Many people and diverse cultures meet and connect with each other, creating a new atmosphere for Kyoto, a city with a long history.
