Presented by PMQ and Japan Graphic Designers Association (JAGDA), Graphic Design in Japan 2019 (Hong Kong Edition) will take place at PMQ from 13 to 29 September 2019.
Graphic Design in Japan is an annual published by JAGDA which complies the year’s best graphic design works, as selected by a group of design professionals. To commemorate the publication, an exhibition will be held to showcase part of the works. For the 2019 edition, the exhibition includes works by Kazumasa NAGAI (永井一正), Atsuki KIKUCHI (菊地敦己), Yoshiaki IROBE (色部義昭), Kaoru KASAI (葛西薫), Yoshie WATANABE (渡邊良重), and Taku SATOH (佐藤卓), etc.
PMQ is proud to present the exhibition in Hong Kong for the very first time, showcasing over 300 pieces from this year’s annual. During the exhibition, there will be a series of public programs: winner of the 21st Yusaku Kamekura Design Award, Yoshiaki IROBE is going to visit Hong Kong and give a talk, which will be moderated by Keith TAM, Head of Department in Communication Design of HKDI. The curator Agnieszka MORI and three local designers, CHAN Hei Shing, Raymond LEUNG and Jim WONG will guide the participants to appreciate the works on display and understand Japanese graphic design in the guided tours. There will also be an open workshop for visitors to experience poster design throughout the exhibition. All events are offered free of charge and on a first-come, first served basis.
