PMQ Taste Kitchen’s brand-new “Aspirants Series” makes its debut with well-traveled cooking enthusiast and renowned food blogger Gary Suen. The new short-term pop-up series highlights the city’s finest amateur culinary talents from all walks of life.
An IT consultant by profession, Gary Suen is known for whipping up creative and delectable dishes in his own kitchen as well as at events such as Tong Chong Street Market and fundraising event.
The aspiring chef will kick off the series with a four-day pop-up concept in May, featuring a menu packed with fresh and vibrant flavors. Highlights from the menu are Fu Yu Mac n Cheese (fu yu is a savory fermented tofu, a staple in Cantonese kitchen) and Chicken Roulade with Pickled Cabbage and Edamame Espuma (using premium locally-raised Ping Yuen Chicken).
With expert guidance from restaurant group owners Caleb and Joshua Ng of Twins Kitchen and support from PMQ Taste Kitchen, the “Aspirants Series” aims to reach beyond professional chefs and, hopefully, inspire more amateur talents to share their stories, flavors, and recipes.
