In this workshop, participants will learn how to create lattice pendant with basic jewellery techniques. The teniques involved include piercing, filing, crafting different metal finishes and surface treatments. They will be introduced to the tool that is used to combine the pendant with a wooden frame of their preferred shape.

This mechanism was specially designed for this workshop so that the participants could choose to wear the pendant either with or without the wooden frame. The lattice design of the pendant is inspired by the lattice found on the windows of traditional Chinese architecture. It is known as “”cracked ice pattern”" (冰裂紋) symbolising peace and calmness all year round (歲歲平安).

Finished Product: A silver puppy pendant in the shape of a Chinese paper cut-out.
