When it comes to black and white drawing, no other medium is as rich and satisfying as charcoal. The velvety darks and the ability to create loose, gestural marks are what make charcoal so unique.
Charcoal is burnt organic material, usually wood. It comes in many different forms including pencils and sticks. And we will be using both.
This class as with all our other classes are especially designed and structured so that absolutely beginners in art making will have no problem of handling the techniques. We will rub the charcoal stick down to charcoal powder and apply it in a way that is quick and simple than the traditional pencil sketching. It less than 3 hours you will be able get the hang of basic charcoal drawing. Next time when you go to hikes or into the woods. Bring a few charcoal stick with you instead of a camera
