“Stone and metal as a decorative piece to wear” is a norm in the definition of jewellery, but contemporary jewellery have gone far more than that. Very often, contemporary jewellery involve personal or cultural meaning, body-intimacy, challenging norms, and more. In this workshop, the tutor will educate and promote other ways of viewing contemporary jewellery.
The workshop will be conducted in 3 parts. At the beginning the tutor will introduce jewellery options alternative to precious materials. Participants will then make a pendent, which can clip almost anything in their daily life on for wearing. By the end of the workshop, they will have time to collect items in Loupe’s nearby environment, clip it on the pendent and share.
Finished product: one-of-a-kind metal pendant with yarn and found object decoration.
*Includes material cost and one Jewellery Delicacy tea set provided by Loupe’s Teahouse.
