A showcase of children’s self-portraits that will make you marvel. Little artists from age 3 to 9, expressing themselves through self-portraits is a very powerful thing for themselves, and for the grownups!
Have you ever drawn a self-portrait? When maturing, some say ‘I don’t know how to draw’ out of fear of technical judgement. Maybe it is a good idea to see what we can learn from the little ones. At Story Pie, we aspire to draw conversations in ways that help us to reboot our authentic styles through art.
These self portraits are unexpectedly whimsical! Unique choice of postures, hairstyles, and fantasy expressions. We are eager to share these artworks with a larger audience. We would like to channel children’s creativity as a reflection for us. As we believe doing portrait artwork is important for personal and psychological development for not only children, but anyone actually! Through creating portraits, we intend to encourage creativity and self-acceptance: appreciate that we are all unique and free from comparing ourselves with others. We want to help shy ones to open up more, encourage extroverted ones to become more inwardly connected. Most importantly, we want to create an outlet of self-expression to boost confidence and self-acceptance.
