About Exhibition
“Dao gives birth to all things. Virtue nurtures them, Matter shapes them, and Circumstances complete them. Therefore, all things revere Dao and value Virtue. Dao is revered, Virtue is valued, not because they command it, but because they naturally bring about the beauty through their inherent qualities.” This passage is from Chapter 51 of Laozi’s Dao De Jing and conveys the idea that Dao is revered and Virtue is valued because Dao allows all things to grow without interference, and Virtue nurtures all things without dominating them, resulting in the beauty that arises from following their natural course. Its profound meaning perfectly embodies the power and infinite wisdom of nature.
Themed “naturally”, this exhibition aims to showcase the wonders and capabilities of nature to the public through artistic works, raising awareness that it is precisely because certain things occur without human intervention that nature’s own abilities can manifest naturally.
The exhibition will present the characteristics of nature, the source of life in the natural world, through ink paintings and visual media. The artworks will depict the relationships between plants and their environments, showcasing natural landscapes, as well as the reproduction and cycles of organisms, presenting the order and virtue within nature.
Moreover, visitors will be able to experience the vitality and creativity of nature and derive inspiration from it. At the same time, the exhibition serves as a reminder that as human beings, we should respect and harmoniously coexist with nature, cherishing and learning to the environment that has bestowed life upon us.
