Chan Chau has lived in Japan for many years and has unique insights into the customs and food culture of various places in Japan. As the latest issue of “Reading Magazine” focuses on the cultural interaction between Japan and Hong Kong, this time we specially invited him and his best partner Jamie Lo to share with you about Japanese sake and food culture.
Chan Chau will use his first-hand experience to talk about the wine culture in Japanese literature, the relationship between sake brands and Chinese culture, as well as the wine and food in different places in Japan’s many prefectures. Jamie Lo will lead participants on a taste journey, tasting 8 types of sake with different flavors, and then discuss the evolution and development of sake in Hong Kong society over the past 15 years. Through these sakes, everyone can personally experience the changes and growth of Hong Kong people’s taste preferences, and understand the stories and culture behind the sakes.
