In search for the integration of arts and designs: See Through Craftsman
HULU Culture, as a non-government organisation aims to promote and preserve local culture, has spent the utmost effort for the past many years in searching and preserving the folk stories of vanishing Old Hong Kong, including the invaluable experiences of local traditional craftsmen.
Coinciding with the fifth anniversary of HULU Culture’s opening, the organisation has been invited by PMQ to set up a Pop-up store, offering an opportunity for local craftsmen to perform their artistic skills and allowing the inheritance and continuation of the tradition. Named “See Through Craftsman”, the shop aims to promote the works of local craftsmen. At the same time, local contemporary artists and designers will be invited for crossover collaborations with the craftsmen. We aim to compile and record the history of the development of local culture, while at the same time promoting art and crafts products with rich local culture and creativity of local artists. The shop would also like to re-present the public to the essence and dimension of craftsmanship and creativity. With the integration of traditional craftsmanship and contemporary design, “See Through Craftsman” is a platform bringing about a unique and extraordinary team, and stimulating creativity along with business opportunity.
We believe that “See Through Craftsman” could introduce the public to the art of traditional craftsmanship, and arouse the public’s interest in and increase their understanding of the humanistic values of craftsmanship.
HULU Culture cordially invites you to the opening party of “See Through Craftsman”.
