In the late 1970s, husband and wife team Carles and Mariona, set about making their dreams into reality with the aim of rescuing the old Carthusian wines. They replanted vines along the banks of the river Siurana in the southern pre-coastal area of Catalonia, and established the Clos de l’Obac Winery making their first wines in 1989, reaching an important milestone in 1993 when the World Wine Guide declared CLOS DE L’OBAC to be one of the world’s 150 best wines.
