To inspire young talents to connect the local community with happiness through design and imagination, Hong Kong Design Centre and Hong Kong Disneyland jointly launched the Happy “D” Project. Over 20 young, multi-disciplinary talents had teamed up with local design and architect masters through a six-month nurturing and co-creation process. They co-created a design solution pinpointing the lack of interpersonal communication in society inspired by the attributes from the selected Disney’s characters.

“Happy D” team has been carrying design installations with secret messages to bring happiness through a one-month “Happy D Hunt” to more than 30 locations in over 10 districts in Hong Kong. Every installation is hidden with one unique alphabet, which will be revealed after all Emoji stickers are peeled off, and eventually assembled to the final work of design – “Pieces of Happiness”.
